The Lights FC has fired coach Antonio Nocerino, the staff introduced Tuesday.
The teaching change comes 5 months after the Lights employed Nocerino to switch Dennis Sanchez, who left in December to develop into the coach of New Mexico United.
Sanchez, who coached the Lights to their first United Soccer League playoff berth final season, has New Mexico in first place within the Western Convention.
The Lights (3-6-3) are in ninth place, one level again of a playoff spot.
Giovanni Troise will function the interim coach for Saturday’s match towards Monterey Bay FC. A seek for a brand new coach is underway.
“I’m grateful for Antonio’s contributions to this membership since becoming a member of forward of the 2025 season,” Lights FC sporting director Gianleonardo Neglia stated in a press release. “We agreed that now could be the precise time for Antonio to step away, as we sit one level out of the playoff positions. I respect his professionalism all through his time in Las Vegas and want him one of the best in his subsequent alternative.”
Nocerino, a former midfielder who performed 247 video games in Serie A, started his teaching profession final season with Miami FC.
Miami completed 3-29-2 with a league-low 11 factors, and Nocerino left with two video games remaining within the season.
The Lights shall be on the lookout for their ninth coach since starting play in 2018.
